We recruit one resident annually, thus, we always have two residents.
We have no preference for students graduating with a PhD versus a MS degree.
It is a 24-month clinical program comprised of a series of rotations with a maximum duration of 3 months. A month of research is available to each resident. Residents are expected to meet all CAMPEP required competencies, and are given an oral exam at the end of each rotation.
Our residents do perform a wide variety of clinical tasks to include machine QA, IMRT QA (only during rotation) and chart checks. The intent is to increase the resident’s responsibilities over the duration of the program as the resident demonstrates and establishes competency in select tasks.
Experience - the opportunity to learn from an extremely experienced faculty - some of the big names in physics are in little Rhode Island. The acumen among our faculty is unchallenged, pioneers in the fields of brachytherapy, protons, and a wide array of therapy development. They are task group leaders and accomplished authors willing to impart their knowledge in practicum.
