Connor Thropp, MS
Biography
Connor was born and raised in southwestern Pennsylvania. His journey into Medical Physics began at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. During his undergraduate years, Connor's interest in medical physics grew as he contributed to the construction and analysis of a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer that used Earth’s magnetic field. This experience introduced him to the principles of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Medical Physics from Brown University. His master's thesis validated a data-driven algorithm designed to detect atypical radiotherapy prescriptions. Throughout his graduate studies, Connor gained clinical experience by working as a quality assurance technician in the Radiation Oncology department at Rhode Island Hospital.
In 2023, Connor joined the RIH/Brown residency program and is looking forward to the journey ahead. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring local state parks and the coastline with his friends.
